Bobcat 225g

I have been looking for a welder/genset for a couple of years. I found a Bobcat 225G at an auction last Saturday. I knew the welder from a ranch oufit that was moving out of state. They wanted $1500 for it 2 months ago. I got it for $1300 at auction.

Changing oil and doing an overall checkout today. The throttle control unit is very weak and won't bring down to idle as it should, Hope to find one tomorrow in Casper. Ran a few beads with it and it welds real smooth.

The trailer has a 10K torsion axle. A little overkill.

Update. Just had my electronics friend check out the throttle control part and it checks out just fine. I guess I will have to do some adjustments to all the linkages to get it all in the right spot so the magnetic switch will operate correctly.

Go here for a manual on your Bobcat:

input the s/n and the correct manual will be in pdf form.

$1300 for welder and trailer? Not a bad deal at all!

Naw, I also got a set of four 6 ply 285/70/R18 Goodyear tires with 70% tread for $5. Hope to find someone looking for a set of used tires. Hope to get $100 for the set.

I remember the first Bobcat I ever operated, I couldn't get it to idle, then I noticed the ignition switch is set up as "off - run/idle - run - start", so they won't go to the run/idle mode automatically, they have to be placed there. This was changed on the latter ones to "off - run - run/idle - start" so run/idle was the default mode then the start switch was released.
