pretty neat.. I also watched, How steel is made.. Was more about the big tycoons but interesting just the same..

Circa 1991, I got to see a plate rolling mill in action at Lukens steel in Conshohocken, PA. They had a yellow-hot slab about the size of a King mattress and rolled it down to maybe 3/8" thick. It ended up hundreds of feet long.

Here's a good video of rerolling rail for other shapes, like bed frame angle. :)

Note the press at 3:38 easily snapping the partially cut rail.
