Default Birmingham CT-1440G Manual

Howdy, I have found a CT-1440G lathe that needs a little work but it doesn't have a manual. The price is VERY reasonable. I think the contactors are bad and maybe the motor capacitor. I need to make a decision soon so all help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

This place;

http://www.lathes.co.uk/

has a huge archive of lathe manuals and info.

Go to the "manuals" link from the homepage. If you cannot see your model in the index then email them with as much info as possible.

They should be able to find you something.

Hope this helps.

Lathes.uk is a great source of info on older machines, but the Birmingham isn't listed there, as it's a current production machine. You may want to contact some distributors who carry parts/manuals:

Thanks, ya'll!

I talked to the guy last night and we agreed to swap an old computer that I have for the lathe, works out to $250 total. Now I just gotta put the computer together again.

Thanks Cutter. Probably the only time being told I suck wouldn't p**s me off. I'm looking forward to getting it home and getting it running. Its missing the tool post and a couple of other small things but at this price I'm not complaining. Any advice on books to learn how to run it? I haven't done any lathe work since HS shop class but always wanted to get one for little projects.
