The owner of Quality Machine Tools, Matt, posts quite a bit at practicalmachinist.com under the name qualitymachinetools. Seems to be a straight shooter.

Quite a few members on both PM and CPF have that machine. Probably the most highly rated of the imports in service, quality and lack of problems. Often back ordered, so check with Matt for availability ... some people have waited 6-8 weeks to get theirs.

Had no idea about this lathe. I only know Grizzly has great service. I bought my mill from Grizzly, but could not find the right size and options with their lathe choices. I started a long search on Google. Link after link I went through. Finally Precision mathews popped up so I tried it. It looked like they had gone out of business, because there lathes were out of stock. I waited for monday to call them. Thats how I found Precision mathews. Thanks for the great info on that company and making me feel I made a good choice on ordering there 11x27 lathe.

Reading these lathe threads makes me think of the TV soap opera "As the World Turns."

Vern, don't quit now. Keep us informed as you learn the tricks of this lathe and later a review of the machine. Jerry

Ahh, that new lathe smell.....I think I need one.
Congratulations, that would have been my choice as well.
